Spanning an impressive 630 square meters, the Forte Cafe is a testament to Martin Chow's vision and creativity. The main inspiration behind the design was the concept of books, with the aim of encouraging customers to visit the cafe and experience a sense of relaxation and comfort. By creating a space where people can freely read or enjoy a cup of coffee, the Forte Cafe not only promotes the property but also provides a haven for book lovers.
The interior of the Forte Cafe is characterized by a careful selection of materials. Stone, black stainless steel, timber, acid-etched glass, and leather are the main elements used to bring the space to life. These materials not only add a touch of elegance but also contribute to the overall cozy and inviting ambiance.
One of the key challenges in this project was the layout. To guide customers through different functional areas, a clear traffic flow was essential. The reception area, strategically located at the entrance, serves as a starting point for customers to explore the sales center. From there, they are guided towards the brand's displays, site model, area map, and finally, the seating area.
Another design challenge was the ceiling. With a large area and a ceiling height of only about 3.8 meters under the beam and service ducts, careful consideration was given to the ceiling design. To create visual interest, aluminum panels were incorporated in contrast with the gypsum board ceiling, adding a touch of modernity to the overall design.
The Forte Cafe project commenced in January 2017 and was completed in June 2017 in Wuhu, China. Throughout the design process, Martin Chow conducted extensive research to understand the local market and the preferences of potential customers. By closely collaborating with the client's marketing team, multiple interior styles were proposed and the book store concept was ultimately chosen for its ability to create a cozy and relaxed environment.
The Forte Cafe, designed by Martin Chow, has garnered recognition for its exceptional design. In 2018, it was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This prestigious award acknowledges the cafe's well-designed, practical, and innovative features, meeting professional and industrial requirements while contributing to a better world.
With its unique blend of a bookstore and cafe, the Forte Cafe offers an immersive experience for customers and serves as a successful marketing tool for Forte apartments. Martin Chow's design showcases the power of thoughtful interior design in creating spaces that captivate and inspire.
